Welcome to Life and Style by Jilian, where I shop and review so you don’t have to! Today, I want to share the cutest modern teen bedroom coastal decor. My daughter has been begging me to freshen up her room. She started looking at a coastal theme after we stayed in an Airbnb on our last vacation.
As we started looking, it was amazing to see so many options. Coastal decor is very popular right now, and I can see why! Having a seaside theme in your room can be very relaxing. The idea is to make you feel close to the beach, where your troubles melt away.
This post will feature the pieces we both loved. This collection has fantastic reviews and affordable prices. If your girl is anything like mine, she wants a room refresh yearly. Keeping it cost-efficient is essential to me. Get ready to shop these gorgeous teen bedroom coastal decor pieces!

Teen Bedroom Coastal Decor
There are many reasons that coastal decor is so trendy. First, it gives a relaxing vibe. Who doesn’t want to feel like they’re on vacation in their bedroom? Nobody! Having a room that offers a place to relax means you’re doing it right.
Second, the elements often used in coastal decor align with many boho looks. Rattan, wicker, and anything natural is super trendy. Adding seashells, coral reefs, etc., does the same as artificial flowers and greenery with a beachy twist.
Finally, the coastal theme is traditional, and although it will revamp its look, it will never fade away. While the look gets an update every few design cycles, it will always be a popular choice for a home’s aesthetic.

Coastal Aesthetic Storage Baskets
Storage baskets are perfect for any room, and a coastal room is no different. The baskets below beautifully coordinate with a seaside theme. Natural materials and neutral tones allow these baskets to blend into any coastal teen bedroom.
These can be used for blankets, laundry, stuffies, and more. I always say there can never be too many storage options in a home. In addition to storage, these baskets add another element to the room: color and texture.

Coastal Themed Blankets & Pillows
Blankets and pillows can be beneficial for incorporating a theme or vibe into a room. They come in various colors, sizes, materials, and patterns. I have a throw pillow on almost every piece of furniture and blankets in baskets in every room of my house.
If you like changing your decor seasonally, you can buy pillow covers. They save precious storage space and money by allowing you to reuse pillows for different decor aesthetics.
These blankets and pillow covers come in a variety of colors and sizes. Find the one that best fits your coastal theme!
Blankets:
Add a throw blanket to accent your space, and prepare for a cozy cuddle. Each one comes in multiple colors if you need that pop.

Throw Pillows
As I said above, throw pillows can make or break a space. These pillows and covers are practical and stylish and can be used in rooms not designed with coastal decor. Let me know what you think of these choices. The pink coral reef pillow is my fave.

Coastal Bedroom Coral Reefs
No coastal aesthetic would be complete without some coral reefs. Below, I showcase two different coral reef colors. Even if you have a neutral theme, it’s always good to have pops of color. These pink and blue coral reef statues are perfect for that.
Coral reef decor is fun because of the shape and texture it adds to the room. To personalize your space, you can easily find these coral reefs in almost any color. What’s your favorite color for a coral reef?

Coastal Decor Accent Pieces
Accent pieces help add to your decor. They bring the room and design together. Typically, they are smaller items that can be placed on shelves or dressers in a bedroom.
I said earlier that my daughter wanted the color scheme to be coastal, so I added a few pieces to give it a slight coastal vibe. Not all of these pieces are necessarily coastal, but they fit beautifully with a coastal aesthetic.
Starfish Dish
This adorable starfish dish is perfect for holding jewelry, keys, or candy. It looks good on a dresser, shelf, or end table.

Wood Knot
This wood knot is terrific because it is not limited to the seaside style. You can use this piece anywhere in your home, and it would look great.

Decorative Wicker Boxes
I love these boxes for their storage option, but I love them primarily for their look. These boxes can also be used anywhere for storage, decoration, or both!

Blue & White Mosaic Tray
Trays and tiered trays are very trendy right now. If you are doing a coastal or blue theme, this tray will look gorgeous with either.

Seaside Statues
These seaside-inspired wooden statues are adorable. Their neutral tones are coastal chic, blending seamlessly with any color scheme. These pieces are great accents to any teen bedroom’s coastal decor.

Coastal Inspired Furniture
Incorporating a coastal aesthetic should be done with consideration. You don’t want to splash seashells all over everything. To avoid beach decor overkill, be thoughtful about your furniture choices.
Using natural materials can give a feeling of the coastal elements without overdoing it. Be careful not to make your inside room feel too patio-ish, either. I have found some stunning pieces that bring a refreshing feeling to your space without being too obvious.
Seating:
Below, I have two seating options. First, a blue and white pouf is suitable for any teen room. This can be used for her desk or as an accent piece that offers additional seating when friends come over.
Pouf seats are great because they store away easily if needed. They come in many different shapes and sizes, making personalizing your room easy.

This modern armchair is stunning! While not an outdoor piece, its braided bamboo look brings the outdoor elements indoors. This stylish seat can elevate any space.

Side Tables:
Side tables serve the purposes of form and function. They house your nighttime necessities. You need a side table to do that and glam up your teen’s bedroom.
For a pop of color, the coral side table is so cute. The mosaic accent table is perfect for more of a true-to-theme table. Which one would you use in your coastal teen bedroom?

Storage:
Every bedroom needs a storage piece. This dresser is perfect for any coastal teen bedroom if you’re planning a seaside theme. It has a natural wood look and six drawers for plenty of storage.

Pampas Grass
Artificial pampas grass is very popular now, and I can see why. It’s very versatile. You can use it as a filler for another flower arrangement or on its own for a softer touch. You can find many varieties and colors to personalize your pampas.
Below, I share a neutral option and, of course, coral-colored pampas for fun!

Coastal Vases & Candles
Do you love artificial pampas grass as much as I do? Then, you’ll need some stylish vases to put it in. Here are a few options.
Navy Blue Tall Vase Set of 3
This vase set is sleek and stylish. It is such a stunning set that I would display it with or without filling it. Their rich, deep blue finish makes a statement either way.

Blue, White, & Gray Vase Set of 3
This is another set of three gray, white, and light blue vases. This set is better for a more neutral tone throughout the space.

Teal Glass Vase
This gorgeous glass vase is excellent for large floral arrangements or bunches of pampas grass. It is large enough to be used on the floor, though it would also look great on a dresser.

Now, for the candles! I love candlesticks and rotating out my pillar candles per season or event. Candlesticks add as much style and design as any other item in this post, so I had to include a set. This coastal blue set brings a fresh feel to your decor.
Blue Candlestick Set of 3

This Salt + Sea Candle has teen girl written all over it. The scent is delicious, and its cute packaging appeals to the teen aesthetic. It’s cute decor, even if you don’t allow candles to be lit in your teen’s room (like me!).

Coastal Wall Art
You must include your walls in the fun to go coastal with your decor. Below, I share some wall art that beautifully represents a coastal vibe.
This Matisse set is refreshing and perfectly emboldens the seaside spirit. These prints look great in rooms that are not designed in coastal decor, making them a great purchase overall.

Next is a set of navy coastal-themed wooden boards. These boards can be arranged in several ways to use your wall space wisely. They also work great in a gallery wall setup.

This next one is my personal favorite: a decorative surfboard. It can be hung on the wall as art or stood up against the wall to make a statement. This is such a fun way to bring coastal vibes into your room!

Finally, these woven baskets aren’t necessarily coastal or beachy but would blend beautifully into a coastal aesthetic.

Thank you for visiting today to view this teen bedroom coastal decor collection. Have fun designing your new seaside sanctuary!
